Core Values

Core Values

As a church family we aspire to the following core values:

1. Devotion

We are Devoted to the Lord Jesus Christ

We embrace:

  • Genuine Worship as a way of life that reflects our understanding of God (Jn. 4:21-24)
  • Sincere Love for one another which is the measure of our commitment to Jesus Christ (Jn. 13:34-35)
  • Personal Holiness that reveals the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives (Gal. 5:22-23)

2. Obedience

We are Determined to Obey the Bible

We pursue:

  • Biblical Authority by rightly interpreting and boldly teaching the whole counsel of God as revealed in the Old and New Testaments (2 Tim. 2:15)
  • Sanctifying Obedience encouraging fidelity to Biblical commands and humility in personal preferences (Lk. 11:28; Rom. 14:17; Phil. 2:1-4)
  • Edifying Ministry employing the precepts, principles, and patterns of Scripture to guide our ministries and direct our stewardship (2 Tim. 3:16-17)

3. Dependence

We are Dedicated to Prayer

We understand that:

  • Powerful Prayer as a church family begins with individuals who pray faithfully (Lk. 18:1)
  • Passionate Prayer as a church demonstrates our recognition of God’s power and our dependence upon His provision (Acts 4:23-31)
  • Purposeful Prayer ignites our love for one another and our devotion to God’s kingdom work (Col. 4:2-4)

4. Risk-Taking

We Dare to Minister by Faith

We are committed to:

  • Biblical Ministry that is measured according to God’s Word and God’s promises (Is. 55:8-11; 2 Tim. 4:5-7)
  • Visionary Ministry that is not limited by human appraisals of risk or reward, but believing God to accomplish far more than we could ask or think (Eph. 3:20-21; Heb. 11:1-40)
  • Strategic Ministry that practices long term planning, in active dependence upon God’s provision to accomplish His purposes through our church (Rom. 1:9-13)

5. Disciple-Making

We Develop Disciples to Reach the Nations

We cultivate:

  • Mature Disciples who are growing in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, actively sharing the gospel, ministering their spiritual gifts, and committing their time, talent, and treasure to this church in its obedience to the Great Commission (Matt. 28:19-20)
  • Qualified Leaders who will strengthen our church as we extend FBC’s ministry to the uttermost part of the earth (2 Tim. 2:2)
  • Reproducing Churches with mature leadership as God’s ordained means to evangelize the world (Matt. 16:18; Acts 13:1-3; 14:23-27; 1 Thess. 1:8)
