• God promised to send Jesus as a baby seven hundred years before His birth and that he would be the Messiah born in Bethlehem
• God gives his people hope and fulfills His promises

• Gabriel the angel told Mary that she would be the mother of the Messiah who would be the Savior and the Son of God

 Jesus is Born 

Luke 2:1-20

• Jesus was born in Bethlehem just as it was prophesied.
• Joseph and Mary traveled from Galilee to Bethlehem together to register for the census.
• While in Bethlehem, Mary gave birth to Jesus and laid him in a manger because there was no room for them in the inn.
• Angels appeared to the shepherds that night to tell of the birth of Christ the Lord.
