How We Got The Bible: The Bible Came From God

Exodus 20:1-26, Exodus 32:16, Revelation 1:9-10, 17b, 18-19, 21:5b-7

  • God speaks through the Bible
  • The Bible is God’s message for all people everywhere
  • Moses wrote on stone tablets; John wrote on parchment scrolls
  • Be eager for God to speak to you through the pages of the Bible

How We Got The Bible: God Showed His Heart

Exodus 32:1-35

  • God wants us to know Him and to follow His good ways
  • You should desire to know God and follow His instructions in the Bible
  • When we chose to obey God, it pleases Him

How We Got The Bible: Authors Wrote God’s Words

Luke 1:1-4

  • God helped human authors write down His inspired words
  • Inspired means “God-breathed”; God breathes life and power into the words of the Bible
  • God chose human authors with different personalities so many diverse people would respond to Him
  • We should be grateful for authors like Luke who wrote down God’s words carefully

How We Got The Bible: Scribes Made Exact Copies

Nehemiah 8:1-18

  • Carefully trained scribes made exact copies of God’s Word
  • Ezra, an Old Testament scribe, was one of God’s faithful servants
  • We can remain confident that the Bible has remained reliable

 June 30

How We Got The Bible: God Inspired 66 Books

Acts 19:8-20

  • God’s Spirit guided people to collect the 66 inspired books into one Book
  • Statements or ideas that contradict with the Bible are false
  • Paul helped new Christians understand that the Bible should guide the way they lived
  • We can be confident that God’s Word is complete and reliable

Children in 1st grade through 6th grade will be dismissed prior to the sermon on Sunday mornings and line up outside the Worship Center where the teacher will then walk them to the Chapel. Each week the Bible lessons listed above will be covered. Our teacher this month is Mrs. Kathy Johnson.
