Blessed Are The Sorrowful

Why does Jesus say, in His Sermon on the Mount, "Blessed are those who mourn?" What kind of mourning is He talking about? Does this mean that everyone who mourns or is sorrowful is blessed? This sermon explains the meaning of the word "mourn" as well as in what sense those who mourn will be blessed.
