How We Got The Bible: Scholars Translated the Bible

Genesis 11:1-9

• Translations are necessary because people speak many different languages
• Translators are very careful to select the right words to keep the meaning the same
• The Bible was written in the Hebrew and Greek languages
• Be grateful for the hard work of people who translated the Bible

JULY 14

How We Got The Bible: Scholars Made English Translations                   

2 Timothy 2:1-26

• John Wycliffe and William Tyndale faced great obstacles in their quest to translate the Bible into English
• Different versions of the English Bible exist
• Using My Bible: Bible maps show where people lived and traveled
• Be grateful to God for John Wycliffe, William Tyndale, and others who provided the first English translation

JULY 21

How We Got The Bible: God’s Word Is Perfect

Psalm 19:7-9

• God’s Word has no mistakes; it is flawless
• You can always trust what the Bible says
• Prayer and the Holy Spirit’s guidance will help them understand the Bible
• Be joyful that you own a book with “all the answers” to life’s problems and challenges

JULY 28

How We Got The Bible: God’s Word Is True

2 Kings 18:1-19:19

• God is the source of all truth
• God’s Word contains nothing false; every word is true
• King Hezekiah learned that he could trust God’s Word
• Be confident that you can trust your Bible

Children in 1st grade through 6th grade will be dismissed prior to the sermon on Sunday mornings and line up outside the Worship Center where the teacher will then walk them to the Chapel. Each week the Bible lessons listed above will be covered. Our teacher this month is Mr. Bryan Shaw.
