Foothill County Fair

FAQ’s

Why a Fair?

There is a diversity of gifts and talents here at FBC. We wanted to be able to provide an avenue for everyone to share what God has gifted you with. We also want to create an opportunity for cross-generational interaction as well as being able to get to know others who are in a like or similar profession.

Why is there a Registration?

We want everyone to register so that 1) we know how to prepare 2) it will automatically enroll you in the raffles that will be given away throughout the day of the event (if you do not register, you will not be eligible for the raffles), and 3) we want to know what occupation you are in.

Why do you need to know my occupation?

One of the areas God has gifted you in, is the area of your occupation. You will receive a ‘registration packet’ the day of the event, which will contain your wrist band for the raffle, your pre-bought food tickets and a name tag lanyard. The lanyards will be ‘color coded’ into 7 broad occupational categories and we encourage you to seek out others that day with the same colored lanyard, as they will be in a similar job classification as you. Think of it as a built in ‘ice breaker’ for a conversation starter.

Do I have to Pre-Buy my food tickets?

Yes. We have contracted Hot Dog on a Stick (HDOS) to come prepare food for us that day, however, because they are a mobile set up, they will need to know exactly how much food to bring. Food from HDOS will not be for sale the day of the event. There will be additional tickets for sale of the concession items the day of the event (cotton candy, popcorn, shaved ice, nachos).

How do I share my gifts and talents?

There are 4 major categories we are providing to show how God has gifted you:

Crafts/Hobbies/Collections

Performing Arts- CLOSED

Culinary Arts

Honoring Military& First Responders – We are setting up a special section for those who have served or are currently serving in the Armed Forces & as First Responders.

What about kids? Can they display items too?

Absolutely! We encourage kids of all ages to submit their favorite artwork or small craft project to the church office or in their Sunday School class. Be sure to include their name, age and title of their artwork. Deadline is Sunday, Nov. 30. Only one entry per child.

Will I have to stay with my display the whole time?

If you want to, you certainly may, however, we will not require you to do so. Please see information under previous question.

If my gift is service, how can I help?

We need LOTS of volunteers. If you would like to help in any area, from prep, set up, tear down to the day of the event, contact the church office and we will give you a specific task list to choose from.

Can I donate a raffle to be given away?

Absolutely! If you are interested in donating a raffle prize, please contact Cindy Behnke or the church office.

Is the fair open to anyone, or just to FBC’ers?

While this event is specifically displaying the giftedness of God within the FBC body, and we are only allowing those who call FBC their home to participate, if there is someone you would like to invite to come with you to the event, that would be great! Please keep in mind however, that if you invite someone, you will need to register them as well as pre-buy their food tickets for them.

We look forward to celebrating with you!
