Ministry Spotlight:
Children's Library

Summer is upon us and this is a good time to check out books from our Children's Library. We have a great selection of biographies, historical fiction and non-fiction as well as dozens of Lamplighter books. There are books for all ages from early readers to juvenile, and young adult. Our selection has been chosen to help your children grow spiritually and to learn how to live wisely.

Preschoolers and beginning readers enjoy having plenty of pictures to go along with the story and we have the entire bottom row of the library bookshelves full of early readers for them to choose from. A fun strategy for reluctant readers is to read chapter books aloud to them. This sparks their interest as they become engaged with the story and want to pick it up on their own to find out what happens next!

Our library catalog is searchable online. Visit our church website here for the link to Library World. If your child is still enjoying a book when it is due, you can renew it by sending an email to librarian@foothillbiblechurch.org or stopping by the library when it is open on Sundays after church. The book drop is located on the south side of the Chapel just to the left of the entrance.

We recently added 22 Quigley’s Village DVDs to our video selection. This award-winning series is a delightful place where children learn Christian values. “Quigley's Village provides the very best in entertainment with important lessons to help children learn & grow. Programs are fun and entertaining for children 3-6, but they are also designed to help parents teach character values to their children. Each program is on a particular value, like telling the truth. Each program has a story that children can understand that is built around a value. Each program has a Bible story that relates to the value. The stories in the program are a wonderful discussion starter for Mom and Dad to talk with their children about a particular value...an excellent aid in building godly character.” [1]
